Engineering

Senior engineering, for select partners.

Alongside our own ventures, we take on a small number of outside engagements. Partners get the standards we hold our own products to, across six practice areas.

Practice areas

Six disciplines, one engineering culture.

01

Artificial intelligence

Putting current models to work inside real products: reliably, measurably and at a cost that makes sense.

Typical work

  • LLM-powered features, agents and retrieval systems
  • Evaluation, guardrails and cost control for production use
  • Model selection, fine-tuning and integration with existing systems
02

Financial technology

Software where correctness is not negotiable: money movement, ledgers and the reporting that sits on top of them.

Typical work

  • Ledger, reconciliation and reporting systems
  • Payment, banking and market-data integrations
  • Audit trails, access control and security-first design
03

Cloud-native infrastructure

The runtime and delivery layers, designed to be cheap to operate, easy to change, and quiet in the absence of real problems.

Typical work

  • Runtime architecture for cloud and edge
  • CI/CD pipelines, preview environments and infrastructure as code
  • Observability, reliability and cost engineering
04

Blockchain and digital assets

Engineering for on-chain systems, approached with the same discipline as any other production software.

Typical work

  • Smart-contract design, implementation and testing
  • Node, indexing and on-chain data infrastructure
  • Wallet, signing and key-management integrations
05

Data platforms

End-to-end work across the data stack, built around the question a team is actually trying to answer.

Typical work

  • Event pipelines and schema design
  • Warehouses, modelling layers and transformation projects
  • Internal analytics and embedded dashboards
06

SaaS product engineering

Complete products for the web, from interface and information architecture through to the servers behind them.

Typical work

  • Greenfield builds, from first commit to launch
  • Modernisation and performance work on established codebases
  • Authentication, billing and multi-tenant architecture

How we engage

Three shapes, sized to the work.

Most engagements start with a short scoping conversation, then a focused first piece of work before any longer commitment.

01

Scoped build

A defined piece of work with a clear outcome, delivered end to end.

02

Embedded team

Sustained senior capacity working inside your product team.

03

Technical advisory

Short engagements for a specific decision: architecture, stack, vendors or hiring.

Tooling

Technology-agnostic.

We stay deliberately unattached to any single stack. The right tool depends on the job, and we would rather use a quieter, well-understood option than chase novelty.

Scope

Engineering only.

Our services are software engineering services. We do not hold or move client funds, issue or sell tokens, or provide financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Every engagement is governed by its own written agreement.
